Description Tiago Freire 2003-12-02 05:13:06 UTC
I have read about patches for nforce network drivers to work with the kernel
2.6, but so far they are not present in the nforce-net ebuild. This is really
blocking me from using the kernel 2.6 in my environment. Also, I have read
somewhere (kerneltrap?) that there is a new reverse-engineered, Open Source
driver for nforce NIC. Can you please make it easier for us to test drive the
new kernel 2.6? BTW, congrats for the great work.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Run using kernel 2.6 (beta11)
2.Try to emerge nforce-net
3.Bummer. emerge fails

Actual Results:
emerge does not finish succesfully

Expected Results:
I should have a shining new ultra-stable kernel module for the NForce NIC for
the kernel 2.6

I haven't heard of any patches for nvnet. But if you look into gentoo-dev-sources, it has the forcedeth driver which is working for me here.
