xfce-4.6.2 unlocalized "start" menu

Description Sergey S. Starikoff 2010-12-11 06:52:56 UTC
On my home PC I haven't e-mail client.
So, while checking xfce4-meta-4.8_pre I was surprised to see the item for invocation of e-mail client in quick start section of XFce "start" menu (between file manager and web-browser).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Check installed software;
2. Update XFce to testing (4.8_pre);
3. See the start menu (the image for 4.6.2 will be attached).
Actual Results:
Discover the appearance in the quick-start section (in XFce 4.6.2 contains of Terminal emulator, File Manager and web-browser) the item for invocation e-mail client. Independently on is it installed or not.

Expected Results:
This item should appear only if the application (e-mail client) is installed.
The same for other items: they should be always displayed only if an application is in dependency list.
If not, it should check: is an application of this category installed in the system and add item for it's invocation only if an application is installed (from time to time I'm thinking about removing from my system all file managers, so, this item also could become blank).

I am sure there's someone out there who can translate the contents of that image from Russian to English in Sergey's stead.

Wrong bugzilla. Try http://bugzilla.xfce.org/ for stuff like this (translations, upstream bug fixes)

Besides you have to configure these items from "Settings > Preferred Applications"

Yes.
Thank you for remind.

I've checked this menu (currently I've returned to XFce-4.6.2). There presents an item to select default e-mail client (unset in my case).

And one more (I think it will looks more like feature request for xfce upstream):
Currently I don't see the item to set (select) preferred file manager.
And, I think, this list of application should be open. User should be able to remove applications from this list and add ones he like.
