Description Niklas Johansson 2010-12-02 16:20:54 UTC
I just did a reinstallation following gentoo handbook. After the installation I got the following error message.

Your system seems to be missing critical device files
in /dev ! Although you may be running udev or devfs,
the root partition is missing these required files !

Either I did something wrong or the installation documents are not really up-to-date. I am primarly thinking big changes the last couple of years with udev, baselayouts and so on.

Atleast the error "help message" worked pefectly and was really useful. (Now my system works).

Reproducible: Didn't try
