Out of a large number (~2500) of packages on my system, this is the only one which wants to pull in <python-2.7.  It seems to compile and run fine under python 2.7.  Please modify PYTHON_DEPEND to allow python 2.7

Same here. dev-lang/python:2.6 pulled in only by net-misc/googlecl, while 'head -n1 /usr/bin/google' prints '#!/usr/bin/python2.7'. 
(I have run python-updater after emerging dev-lang/python:2.7).

tested with 2.7, seems to be working fine. dependency updated.
