Actually 0.9.1 is out as well, but not mentioned in the News section of the webpage, just downloads: CELT 0.9.1 greatly improves the packet loss concealment. This change is especially dramatic in fixed point mode. The 0.9.1 bit-stream is compatible with 0.9.0. Though I'm now starting to wonder if 0.9.x is bit-stream compatible with 0.8.x... Usually they are not bit-stream compatible, that's why I wanted to wait for the new mumble release, or at least a recent snapshot. But after talking with upstream yesterday, they don't seem to be interested in playing nice with source-based distros. Since other packages also started using celt they better need to be tested as well. I guess I'll just commit a masked version later today to ease testing and avoid expected breakage, and we can unmask it if everything is fine/fixed. upstream says celt is in soft-freeze now, so they will only change the bitstream if bugs occur. *** Bug 371257 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Opus has replaced celt as a codec (and has finally been approved in RFC 6716). So you may want to look into that instead. celt-0.11.3 was added to the tree some time ago |
