Mistakes happen - 

emerge gddb

Where I actually meant gdb. gddb does not exist, thus emerge should suggest the matching packages.

The same should happen in case of conflicts (mldonkey for e.g).


Additionally there should be a versions switch using which emerge will show all available versions and ask which one to merge - 

emerge --versions kdebase-meta
Calculating dependencies ...                 done!

Which packages would you like to merge?

1) kdebase-meta-4.1.1
2) kdebase-meta-4.2.0
3) kdebase-meta-4.4.5

Works well.

However the --versions feature appears to be unimplemented. New bug for that?

Yes, --versions should be a new bug since it's an entirely separate feature.

This is fixed in 2.1.9.36 and 2.2.0_alpha20.
