A similar problem also seems to appear with non-useflag output: ~x11-libs/qt-test-4.7.04 required by (dev-util/qt-creator-2.0.1::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) The highlight (red) was "4.7.0", with the "4" being grey. So I assume something else (i.e. "4") got added after the version without any separator. (In reply to comment #1) > A similar problem also seems to appear with non-useflag output: > ~x11-libs/qt-test-4.7.04 required by (dev-util/qt-creator-2.0.1::gentoo, ebuild > scheduled for merge) > The highlight (red) was "4.7.0", with the "4" being grey. So I assume something > else (i.e. "4") got added after the version without any separator. The "4" is probably the slot, hence should be ":4" instead. We have a few different messages like this, produced by different pieces of code. Can you post the entire message, so that we can see which piece of code is producing it? ACCEPT_KEYWORDS=~amd64 and emerge -1uDNpv @world causes this message (qt-creator depends on a version of qt which is not the latest available, which in turn depends on certain useflags for cairo): !!! to prevent one of those packages from being selected. However, it is also possible that conflicting dependencies exist such that they are impossible to satisfy simultaneously. If such a conflict exists in the dependencies of two different packages, then those packages can not be installed simultaneously. You may want to try a larger value of the --backtrack option, such as --backtrack=30, in order to see if that will solve this conflict automatically. For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook. emerge: there are no ebuilds built with USE flags to satisfy ">=x11-libs/cairo-1.10.0[-qt4]". !!! One of the following packages is required to complete your request: - x11-libs/cairo-1.10.0-r3 (Change USE: -qt4) (dependency required by "x11-libs/qt-gui-4.7.0-r1" [ebuild]) (dependency required by "x11-libs/qt-svg-4.7.0" [ebuild]) (dependency required by "dev-util/qt-creator-2.0.1" [ebuild]) (dependency required by "@selected") (dependency required by "@world" [argument]) This fixes it: http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitweb/?p=proj/portage.git;a=commit;h=47b391dca309e0f815b73b16a91083239f01444d The is in 2.2.0_alpha5, but I'll leave this bug open until it's in an unmasked release. This is fixed in 2.1.9.25. |
