Apache and Apache2 have existed on the same ebuild since I've been using Gentoo.
The same should be true for xfce3 and xfce4. I remember reading on the Gentoo
website that useing two packages for two different version numbers is the
essence of a 'broken' package system, and I agree. Yet two ebuilds exist for two
versions.

This has resulted in confusion for several users of Gentoo, myself included. If
need be, a new USE flag should be introduced.
