nvidia.ko is the proprietary driver from nVidia corporation. The nouveau driver is the open-source driver featured in the Xorg guide. All that to say . . . you're doing it wrong sorry. :) Please ask on our forums (http://forums.gentoo.org) if you need help with your kernel configuration, after reading both the Xorg guide and http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/nvidia-guide.xml (if you're interested in using the proprietary drivers). This is not a bug; closing. |
