Just found disabling xinerama allows me to run QT apps. Using TwinView right now. binary drivers are not supported. They are provided for your convience only. I have this same problem, actually in Archlinux. This is the only thing Google can find. I can also reproduce the bug with the open-source nouveau "nv" driver. Same crash backtrace, only when starting any qt app. If I disable Xinerama, it works fine, with either driver. Since the bug does not depend on the closed-source nvidia binary, the rationalle for closing this bug seems to be invalid. A couple other places I have seen this bug reported lately: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=836875 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qt4-x11/+bug/650539 OK, turns out it was a bug in Xorg. Here's the patch: http://lists.x.org/archives/xorg-devel/2010-October/014150.html Thanks, much appreciated! |
