After emerging kdesvn I can't switch language.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge kdesvn -pv

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild R ] dev-vcs/kdesvn-1.5.5 USE="handbook (-aqua) -debug (-kdeenablefinal)" LINGUAS="ru -de -es -fr -ja -lt -nl -pt_BR -ro" 0 kB

2. Start kdesvn
3. KdeSVN with English face

Actual Results:
English face of Kdesvn not Russian

Expected Results:
$ ls /usr/share/svnqt/i18n/
svnqt_de.qm svnqt_en_GB.qm

There's no bug.

If you look at http://www.alwins-world.de/repos/kdesvn/trunk/src/svnqt/lang/ there's no Russian translation there for svnqt.
po/ dir is for LC_MESSAGES (gettext) while .qm files are Qt translations. We only install what kdesvn actually provides.

So from package maintainer perspective, it's upstream issue that some translations are incomplete.

Bummer, yes, translations are incomplete but *not* installing gettext files is different thing...
Comment 3 Maciej Mrozowski gentoo-dev 2010-10-04 01:07:19 UTC
That's what I found in po/CMakeLists:

# disable unfinished/ancient translations
LIST(REMOVE_ITEM pofiles "nl.po")
LIST(REMOVE_ITEM pofiles "ru.po")

So it seems Russian translations are removed purposely by upstream.
Not sure why it's not removed from SVN then...

Anyway, I'm removing ru and nl from linguas then... It's hardly a fix but at least makes ebuild reflect reality. Thanks for reporting!
