in Code listing 8.4 of the install instruction, it says

# cp -R /mnt/cdrom/distfiles /mnt/gentoo/usr/portage/distfiles
# cp -a /mnt/cdrom/packages /mnt/gentoo/usr/portage/packages

shouldn't that be a "cp -R" for the packages directory too?

Does the "cp -a" instruction work? I'd rather not fix something that isn't broken. I don't know why we use "-R" and "-a" seperately, but I'll only consider changing one of them if I know it has *no* impact on what happens...
