No objection, I had hoped that neatx would become a lively project and get all features from freenx, but it is still at revision 59. Still it works great (for the features implemented), so indeed let's stable it and a few NX packages at the same time Arches please test and mark stable =net-misc/nx-3.4.0-r3 (NX protocol fixes) =net-misc/neatx-0.3.1_p59-r1 and =net-misc/nxserver-freenx-0.7.3_p104-r5 (newer openssl support), thanks! =net-misc/neatx-0.3.1_p59-r1 amd64 stable did not get a chance to test freenx. Note nx is just a bit under 30 days. Also - I'm not sure that we should be using -r3 since there is a change to the upstream package. Arch teams really aren't the ones to make that call so I'm fine with stabling this in a week or two, but you might want to check on that with QA/etc (I'm not sure there is a sane way to track these versions unless you split package). nx package has multiple sources, as it follows upstream releases: Nomachine only updates them once in a while, when releasing new versions of their binary releases, and all open-sources packages with fixes get bumped at the same time. So tracking changes is easier, for example these in -r3 are listed in the binary release announcement: http://www.nomachine.com/news-read.php?idnews=320 Else, -r3 is recent, but it is only bugfixes on -r2 (5 tickets listed in the link, most work upstream is on the upcoming 4.0 release), which did not trigger any bugreports. As NX packages are troublesome to test, I targeted -r3. But ok let's wait for the 30days mark Current stable version: net-misc/nxserver-freenx-0.7.3_p104-r4 blocks the new openssl (recently marked as stable): dev-libs/openssl-1.0.0a-r3 Is this enough reason to hurry up? ;) =net-misc/nx-3.4.0-r3 amd64 stable Only nxserver-freenx remains. I'm not sure how quickly I'll be able to get to that one as I'd need to set up a chroot to not mess up my existing config... Packages in tree are old enough now anyway :) Readding arches, please test and mark stable: * amd64 only needs =net-misc/nxserver-freenx-0.7.3_p104-r5 stable * x86 =net-misc/nx-3.4.0-r3 =net-misc/neatx-0.3.1_p59-r1 and =net-misc/nxserver-freenx-0.7.3_p104-r5 Richard, there is eselect-nxserver which allows multiple servers installed at the same time and easy switching between them, but it's only been tested by me (so no guarantee it won't break your setup or kill a kitten) amd64 done x86 stable, all arches done. |
