Hello, Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Please copy your emerge --info and a relevant part of the build log so we can understand and try to reproduce this error. I have looked at the ebuild and it appears there is a valid reason for statically linking in libedit. I've pasted an exerpt below. # Always statically link libedit in to ensure we always boot if it changes # which it has done in the past. Looks like bug #334693.
