For the source mirror, if you've only had the one rsync error, Ibiblio was probably under heavy load. I'm sending you some instructions on accessing our private distfiles mirror. Please update your scripts to point to this mirror. I've added 195.222.16.154 to the access list for rsync1.us.gentoo.org. You should be able to sync with rsync1.us within 30 minutes. Please update your rsync cron jobs to point to rsync1.us.gentoo.org and post back here when you've done so. I'll monitor the server for a couple days to make sure things are working fine. Thanks. Are the mirrors still available? Sorry, I'm so late but I'v been busy. I updated my script and it should work now. In previous announcement I meant that rsync server is working. I'll start monitoring the portage mirror tonight. I'm going out of town for a week, so I won't be able to finish testing until after the 29th. Thanks. This server is now rsync1.ee.gentoo.org. Please update the motd file to include that information. I've subscribed <veiko@linux.ee> to our gentoo-mirrors mailing list (low volume). This list is used to discuss mirror-related issues. Thanks for supporting Gentoo. Could you update the motd to mention the server is rsync1.ee? Thanks. > Could you update the motd to mention the server is rsync1.ee?
This rsync server runs several different mirrors and I cant put gentoo's motd for all of them. Currently the config file is:
[gentoo-x86-portage]
#this entry is for compatibility
path = /home/ftp/mount/hdd/mirror/gentoo/portage
motd file = /etc/rsync/rsyncd.motd
[gentoo-portage]
#modern versions of portage use this entry
path = /home/ftp/mount/hdd/mirror/gentoo/portage
motd file = /etc/rsync/rsyncd.motd
exclude = distfiles
But as I understand the motd file = blaah can be only for entire server and not different for subsections - it doesnt work now. I hope you understand my problem and maybe even know the solution.

OK, thanks.
Also, I forgot to "stop" monitoring the timestamps. I've noticed
several missed syncs, but none older than an hour. Might be worth
keeping an eye on. Since we haven't had any complaints, I'm not
going to worry about it.
