The position of ">=dev-util/gtk-doc-am-1.11" before the conditional that follows it ensures that all the doc stuff gets pulled in, whether you want it or not...

So this:

Should be this:

Seems it's more than the DEPEND positioning.  "automake --add-missing --copy" dies a terrible death if dev-util/gtk-doc-am isn't there.
