Description Pál Csányi 2010-07-30 15:11:25 UTC
I thought that wmakerconf 2.12 is masked.
I unmasked it editing '/etc/portage/package.keywords' and emerge it.
It just works! :)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Unmasked wmakerconf.
2. Emerge wmakerconf.
3. Run wmakerconf.

Actual Results:
It works!

Expected Results:
It works!

Don't you think it should be unmasked?
Comment 1 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-07-30 15:14:38 UTC
It will need windowmaker-0.92.0-r9 stable as well (because of bug 265465).
Comment 2 Bernard Cafarelli gentoo-dev 2010-08-19 19:27:53 UTC
And stabilizing this version of windowmaker is also a good idea ;)

Arches please test and mark stable:
* =x11-wm/windowmaker-0.92.0-r9 for alpha, amd64, hppa, ppc, ppc64, sparc, x86
* =x11-misc/wmakerconf-2.12 (configuration program for wmaker), for amd64, ppc, sparc, x86
Comment 3 Markos Chandras (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-08-20 10:28:50 UTC
amd64 done
Comment 4 Markus Meier gentoo-dev 2010-08-22 12:25:57 UTC
with USE="gnustep" you get this QA warning:

* econf: updating WindowMaker-0.92.0/config.guess with /usr/share/gnuconfig/config.guess
./configure --prefix=/usr --build=i686-pc-linux-gnu --host=i686-pc-linux-gnu --mandir=/usr/share/man --infodir=/usr/share/info --datadir=/usr/share --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var/lib --sysconfdir=/etc/X11 --with-x --enable-usermenu --with-pixmapdir=/usr/share/pixmaps --with-nlsdir=/usr/share/locale --enable-xpm --enable-png --enable-jpeg --enable-gif --enable-tiff --enable-modelock --enable-xinerama --with-gnustepdir=/usr/GNUstep/System
configure: WARNING: unrecognized options: --with-gnustepdir

not sure if this is a regression.
Comment 5 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-08-24 11:55:22 UTC
we will do it anyway on x86
Comment 6 Bernard Cafarelli gentoo-dev 2010-08-25 11:54:39 UTC
Strange, even if configure complains about --with-gnustepdir, the ebuild still installs WPrefs correctly in /usr/GNUstep/System (which is about the only use of this configure flag)with USE=gnustep, and in /usr/{bin,share} when USE=-gnustep. And I don't see what's missing in the relevant configure.ac part, Fabian what do you think?

Arches, you can go on with stabling, this does not change the behaviour compared to previous version, we'll clear the QA warning
Comment 7 Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2010-08-25 12:04:26 UTC
I think I'm affraid I made a mess around here.

First, the ebuild should've been EAPI=3.
Second, the argument we're looking for is --with-gnustepdir (mind the "dir")
Third, because we set GNUSTEP_LOCAL_ROOT, we magically override the gnustepdir argument.

Conclusion, we can safely drop the configure argument, or (probably better) drop the export of GNUSTEP_LOCAL_ROOT and fix the configure argument.

I guess we better do this in a revbump regardless, which is then going to be EAPI=3, so yes, we you can safely ignore the configure warning thing.

I'll commit -r10 soon, unless someone objects.
Comment 8 Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2010-08-25 12:09:04 UTC
sorry, point 2 is a screwup in the configure.ac file:
AC_ARG_WITH(appspath, [ --with-gnustepdir=PAT ...

appspath != gnustepdir. Guess we better just fix that.
Comment 9 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-09-19 16:51:33 UTC
alpha/sparc stable
Comment 10 Brent Baude (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-10-14 16:34:28 UTC
ppc stable
Comment 11 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-10-19 02:22:17 UTC
Stable for HPPA.
Comment 12 Kacper Kowalik (Xarthisius) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-01-13 18:17:02 UTC
ppc64 will pass on stabilizing x11-wm/windowmaker
added ~ppc64 to =x11-misc/wmakerconf-2.12
