I tried to update my system but when building sys-devel/binutils-2.20.1-r1 it fails every time. I tried revdep-revuild and it fails as well since it tries to build sys-devel/binutils-2.20.1-r1.

Please provide a full build log because you're missing out on the actual error here. Also, please try without distcc as a comparison.

Disabling distcc solved the problem. sys-devel/binutils-2.20.1-r1 build sucessfully. Thank you for the feed back.
