The example lilo.conf shown in the x86 Installation Guide has the line map=/boot/map and it should be map=/boot/.map. The dot before map is missing. Since what version is this the case? I can't find any information about this anywhere; all google hits return /boot/map, not /boot/.map... Any URLs? When I installed gentoo 1.4 off the cd, the example lilo.conf and the filename put on the boot partition is .map not map. That is all I know about it. Very weird. That shouldn't be happening, and I can't find anyone else that has this same situation (asked it twice on #gentoo). What lilo version (well, package version) do you have? You can see that with "emerge -s lilo". Bug time-out. |
