If compositing and desktop effects are enabled I start a fullscreen game (native or wine). When I go out of the game, I see a black screen and a mouse cursor. Windows react mouse and keyboard, but I don't see anything. If I disable compositing by pressing alt+shift+f12, everything goes to norm. If I try to enable it, black screen again. Everything comes to norm after relogin. If compositing is disabled before the game and enabled after it, everything is ok.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enable desktop effects if KDE control center.
2. Play a fullscreen game.
3. Quit the game.
4. Look at the black screen with the mouse cursor.

Actual Results:  
Black screen and cursor.

Expected Results:  
Desktop and applications.

Just for info, have you tried kde-4.5.x?
