Description Jens Pelzetter 2010-07-15 13:02:11 UTC
After installing x11-drivers/xf86-video-ati-6.13.0 my system freezes randomly after some time of working. After reinstalling x11-drivers/x86-video-ati-6.12.17 all works fine.

Sometimes I was able to cause the crash with evince. After I started evince and tried to enlarge the Side Pane, the system freezed completely (even Magic Keys are not working).

Reproducible: Sometimes

Please post dmesg and Xorg.0.log too. Ensure that you are not using any of the legacy framebuffer drivers (vesafb, uvesafb, radeonfb, ...)

First, sorry that I've not responded earlier. After some days of testing it looks like that radeonfb was the cause for the error indeed.

After I removed radeonfb from the kernel I had no further system freezes.

Because of this, I mark this bug as invalid.
