Tested versions: media-libs/xine-lib-1.1.18.1 USE="X a52 aac alsa css dts flac imagemagick ipv6 mad mng modplug musepack nls opengl speex theora truetype v4l vcd vorbis wavpack xcb xv -aalib (-altivec) -directfb -dxr3 -esd -fbcon -gnome -gtk -jack -libcaca -mmap -oss -pulseaudio (-real) -samba -sdl (-vidix) (-vis) (-win32codecs) -xinerama -xvmc" media-sound/phonon-4.4.1-r1 USE="alsa gstreamer xcb xine (-aqua) -debug -pulseaudio" 0 kB kde-base/phonon-kde-4.4.4 USE="alsa xine* (-aqua) -debug (-kdeenablefinal) (-kdeprefix)" media-sound/amarok-2.3.1-r1 USE="cdda embedded mtp opengl player semantic-desktop utils -daap -debug -ipod (-kdeenablefinal) -lastfm -mp3tunes" media-sound/tepsonic-9999 USE="sqlite -lastfm -mysql" Confirming that this bug is present (for certain flac files, the posted test-case included), in phonon-9999 as well Answer from amarok developer (at #phonon): [12:51:28] <markey> Nikoli: Wizzleby: that's a limitation of xine itself, it needs "seek points" for doing that (can be added with the tool metaflac) [12:51:38] <markey> other frameworks don't have this issue --- [Whois] markey is markey!~markey@amarok/developer/markey (Mark Kretschmann) Vote +1 Let's see if / how upstream reacts. It seems the bug has been sitting for over 8 months now. I fear our option only option might be to change the phonon backend as it seems the xine backend is dying. vlc backend is the default one since phonon 4.4.4, I'll resolve this as WONTFIX, please reopen if you encounter it again with vlc. thanks |
