Should be ready to stabilize, arches, please do it if possible
Comment 2 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2010-07-24 11:48:31 UTC
Also app-office/gnumeric-1.10.6 looks ok to stabilize
Comment 3 Paweł Hajdan, Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-07-24 16:29:34 UTC
x86 stable (goffice, abiword, gnumeric)
Comment 4 Victoria Heisner 2010-07-26 16:54:32 UTC
On x86, trying to update gives me this:

app-office/abiword:2

('ebuild', '/', 'app-office/abiword-2.8.6', 'merge') conflicts with
    =app-office/abiword-2.6.8* required by ('installed', '/', 'app-office/abiword-plugins-2.6.8', 'nomerge')

app-office/abiword-plugins doesn't even have a 2.8.6 version masked.

Yes, but what about the functionality of app-office/abiword-plugins? Has that been rolled into the main program? The dependence shown above is for = plugin version 2.6, not = or > 2.6. So the plugins won't compile against the updated main program, there are no updates for the plugins, and nothing I've seen where they are deprecated.

So I don't want to just willy-nilly emerge -C.

Plugins are now provided in app-office/abiword-2.8*, simply take a look on its new USE flags ;-)

Ta, mate. Just out of curiosity, media-sound/amarok has just upgraded, and they've rolled media-sound/amarok-utils into a USE flag also. However, portage automatically unmerges media-sound/amarok-utils. Why the difference? Was that a conscious decision on the part of the abiword developers to not automatically unmerge the plugins?

Speaking of developers, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you guys for all the hard work that you do.... Thanks.

Maybe it's because you have abiword-plugins on your world file... but I am not 100% sure :-(
