Description DEMAINE Benoît-Pierre, aka DoubleHP 2010-06-29 19:21:39 UTC
Package: libdrm-2.4.21
 * libdrm's ABI may have changed without change in library name
 * Please rebuild media-libs/mesa, x11-base/xorg-server and
 * your video drivers in x11-drivers/*.

Package: xorg-server-1.8.1.902
 * You must rebuild all drivers if upgrading from <xorg-server-1.8
 * because the ABI changed. If you cannot start X because
 * of module version mismatch errors, this is your problem.
 * You can generate a list of all installed packages in the x11-drivers
 * category using this command:
 *      emerge portage-utils; qlist -I -C x11-drivers/

When merging only libdrm, user may have no access to xorg-server messages; libdrm should say how to list drivers, this way:

 * libdrm's ABI may have changed without change in library name
 * Please rebuild media-libs/mesa, x11-base/xorg-server and
 * your video drivers in x11-drivers/*.
 * You can generate a list of all installed packages in the x11-drivers
 * category using this command:
 *      emerge portage-utils; qlist -I -C x11-drivers/

Thanks. Trivial :)

Actually, we should just punt the elog message. I added it back when upstream messed up a release and broke ABI and haven't removed it since. Upstream is now much more careful and hasn't broken the ABI in a long time...

Thanks

Removed in both main tree and x11 overlay.
