Description Thomas Burkard 2010-06-23 12:42:00 UTC
after successful emerging x11-misc/shared-mime-info-0.71 an elog message is printed saying:
>	...
>	elog "(as root) # update-mime-database ${EPREFIX}/usr/local/share/mime/"
>	...

beside the fact that on prefix it's not necessarily root who owns the installation it's just a wrong path. the database is actually in
>	"${EPREFIX}/usr/share/mime"

running the command as printed results in an error message about a missing directory and the process aborts. running update-mime-database with the correct path succeeds.

Reproducible: Always

Nope, the message is exactly correct because it automatically updates the "proper path" and then says "you MAY need to update local paths"

If you don't have any local caches/paths then you don't have to do anything. :)
