Thanks for pointing out this noteworthy release -- assigning to maintainers. Created attachment 239769 [details, diff] diff of ebuild between gst-plugins-bad-0.10.18 and gst-plugins-bad-0.10.19 With a version bump to gst-plugins-good-0.10.23 (see bug #329287), can watch YouTube WebM streams in my webkit-gtk browser. Sorry, that's bug #329387 which contains a bump for gst-plugins-good to 0.10.23. This release introduces WebM support in the Matroska muxer. The full gst-plugins-bad set is in tree now (not just media-libs/gst-plugins-bad that only has plugins that have no external dependencies).
For WebM/VP8 playback you should need at least the following:
>=media-libs/gst-plugins-good-0.10.23
>=media-libs/gst-plugins-bad-0.10.19
>=media-plugins/gst-plugins-vp8-0.10.19
