emerge -C vlc emerge vlc the blocker is there to avoid the new vlc from using the current installed vlc's headers / and libraries. otherwise you end up with broken installation. however it's been a while since this has been tested, so you can remove the !!<=media-video/vlc... lines from the vlc ebuilds, redigest, and emerge and test it. let us know if that works, thanks! if it doesn't, then Comment #1 applies. *** Bug 325053 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** (In reply to comment #2) > > let us know if that works, thanks!
