I try to reproduce it with MAKEOPTS="-j1" when my dev-libs/mpfr related gcc-4.5 recompile finished. I could not hit this using your profile, your C{XX}FLAGS, LDFLAGS, and USE flags. I even did an aggressive MAKEOPTS="-j9" on a 8 core i7, so I don't think parallel building is an issue. Make sure you don't run out of ram. If you're using tmpfs on /var/tmp/portage, you may not want to reduce your memory for processes by allocating 1/2 to tmpfs. Erm, looks like it was an out of memory problem 2GB ram, 3/4 of it in a tempfs on PORTAGE_TEMPDIR ... can't reproduce ... |
