There is no support for <NV30 cards in gallium driver, but there is legacy 'classic' driver, which could be enabled by DRI_DRIVERS+=nouveau - this will install /usr/lib/dri/nouveau_vieux.so driver, so older cards would be able to use HW acceleration.

I'll post emerge --info from affected machine later, as it's located at my work.
