Dear Gentoo team,

we'd like to offer a new full mirror for your project:

http://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/gentoo/
ftp://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/gentoo/
rsync://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/gentoo/

Currently we synchronize from ftp.ussg.iu.edu every six hours.

The server is located at RWTH Aachen University in Germany and currently features a 2 GBit/sec connection. This will be upgraded to 10 GBit/sec soon. For further information please refer to http://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/

Please take care that rsync does not produce an error during a normal rsync. Currently we observe the following error, which might be intended, but disrupts our monitoring process.

rsync: send_files failed to open "/releases/.test/THIS-FILE-SHOULD-NOT-BE-PUBLIC.txt" (in gentoo-distfiles): Permission denied (13)
rsync error: some files could not be transferred (code 23) at main.c(1524) [generator=3.0.3]

The rsync base is rsync.de.gentoo.org, we synchronize every 30 minutes.

Could you please add ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de to the acl of masterportage.gentoo.org and masterdistfiles.gentoo.org?

 have put your server into our monitoring system so we can check it for the
next 2 weeks.  If everything looks okay, you will be put into the official
rotation.
