![]() Both (networkmanager and nm-applet) seem to work fine for me This is missing some stable dependencies: =net-misc/networkmanager-0.8-r1 =gnome-extra/nm-applet-0.8 =net-misc/mobile-broadband-provider-info-20100122 =net-misc/modemmanager-0.3 should go together. I also run into bug #282612. I'm OK with stabilizing it, but dagger will have to give an ACK before we proceed. (In reply to comment #2) > This is missing some stable dependencies: > > =net-misc/networkmanager-0.8-r1 > =gnome-extra/nm-applet-0.8 > =net-misc/mobile-broadband-provider-info-20100122 Make that 20100510. It was added to tree today, but it's just an XML file. > =net-misc/modemmanager-0.3 > We might want to go with 0.4 (after waiting for a couple of weeks) You sure empathy requires 0.8 not 0.7? Last time I checked 0.8 wasn't working well with modemmanager 0.4pre. 0.8.1 should be released at any day now (already at RC) which works fine with MM 0.4. But yes, we should stabilise it anyway. (In reply to comment #4) > You sure empathy requires 0.8 not 0.7? > It's not needed if we don't stabilize 2.28.2-r1 (that doesn't seem to be needed since it only adds a fix for running with nm-0.8) How about adding arches to do the following list? Or wait for 0.8.1 ? =net-misc/networkmanager-0.8-r1 =gnome-extra/nm-applet-0.8 =net-misc/mobile-broadband-provider-info-20100510 =net-misc/modemmanager-0.4 (In reply to comment #6) > How about adding arches to do the following list? Anything specifically needing testing on these? If no maintainer is faster the x86-arch team will take the liberty to add arches in one week. Please object now or go ahead. Thanks! (In reply to comment #8) > If no maintainer is faster the x86-arch team will take the liberty to add > arches in one week. Please object now or go ahead. > Thanks! > I'm sorry, but you can't do that. But since you want a maintainer to comment, I'm saying that this bug will not continue till dagger gives a go ahead. He's the best to judge if 0.8 can go stable, or whether 0.8.1 should be used. 0.8.1 is a bit different from 0.8. It's got lots of new features and I'm pushing gentoo system settings plugin (GSoC 2010) with it. So from my perspective - 0.8 is better candidate for stable then 0.8.1 right now. If arch testers are happy about it (and all required deps) - sure go ahead and stable it! On the side note - is 0.8 really _required_ for empathy? Ok, let's try the following targets =net-misc/networkmanager-0.8-r1 amd64 ppc ppc64 x86 =gnome-extra/nm-applet-0.8 amd64 ppc x86 =net-misc/mobile-broadband-provider-info-20100510 amd64 ppc x86 =net-misc/modemmanager-0.4 amd64 ppc ppc64 x86 Thanks. adding arches, please test and mark stable. x86 stable amd64 done ppc done ppc64 done (compile tested only) |
