driver is being replaced by p54 driver

Comment 3 David J Cozatt 2010-07-14 01:05:20 UTC
The prism54-2.13.ebuild in tree properly installed my firmware for kernel 2.34.1 this was not gentoo-sources but a kernel dload. Checked the md5sum matched the download from wireless.kernel.org I had used.

System is amd64 WORKSFORME

Driver package should be dropped in favor of kernel driver and prism54-firmware moved to p54 likely.
But don't drop the firmware.ebuild please!!!
Comment 4 David J Cozatt 2010-07-14 01:10:25 UTC
Sorry meant to say prism54-firmware-2.13.ebuild WORKSFORME

using /lib/firmware/isl3886pci installed from the ebuild added CC
Comment 5 Thilo Bangert (RETIRED) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-07-14 11:34:58 UTC
dont worry! the prism54-firmware package is not scheduled for removal.
Comment 6 David J Cozatt 2010-07-14 16:47:03 UTC
Thanks and it needs a version bump the 'stable' package doesn't work with current (dare I asy recent kernels)
but anyway for amd64 it seems to be fine
