Bug 321003 – Amarok sound output doesn't work

I just emerge amarok and wanted to listen to some music. unfortunately sound output doesn't work. I use pulseaudio and can see amarok listed and connected to pulse using pavucontrol. but the sound level indicator doesn't move there but in amarok there's no indication of a problem. If I go to kde multimedia setting and press the 'test' button, it also shows up in pavucoontrol and I hear sound, so phonon seems to work.
maybe this but is related to bug 315003 but I don't see a dbus error message anywhere.

1. emerge amarok
2. launch it and play some music

no sound hearable

it's not an amarok issue but a phonon issue which got fixed recently...
