Needed HAL use flag forced off to remove dependency on HAL, can we make this optional? 

Needs keyword adding on ppc

Also, we are not going to blindly drop all hal dependencies even dropping features with it, please only report cases when a better alternative to hal usage already exists and works

Complaint sounds related to bug #320175, no need to rewrite the same issue. Also please be more verbose in what you actually want. Keywording issues are separate, please check a bug was not already filled for this as in bug #313563.
