There's a current bug within cdw-0.4.0 which prevents a user configuration from being created/read ($HOME/?.cdw.conf, $HOME/?.cdw.log are the symptoms of this).  This is probably a compiler specific bug & has been currently fixed within CVS.  Fix will be included within the cdw-0.4.1 which isn't set to be released for another few months.

Also, this CVS ebuild should provide some relief for those that might experience any future bugs which are fixed within CVS.  Development for CDW is currently at a steady pace.

The author of CDW is getting ready for a 0.5.0 release, and I'll be sure to ping this bug with the new ebuild submittal/bug request #.
