Description Artem Baguinski 2003-10-24 04:49:25 UTC
on my sony vaio PCG-F403, with Neomagic NM2200 (MagicGraph 256AV) graphics
chipset if boot screen of liveCD becomes corrupted in "verbose mode". especially
sad because i must chose verbose mode to enter keymap.

it looks like half of the screen is intact and lower half is covered with random
pixels and messages are appearing on top of the grabage (making it partially
disappear). the screen is recovered after booting.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. boot sony vaio PCG-F403 from livecd
2. either make gentoo ask for keymap or press F2 when it starts to boot

Actual Results:
garbage

Expected Results:
no garbage

livecd 1.4 RC4 on sony vaio PCG-F403

Have you tried the "nofb" kernel?
Comment 2 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-25 11:24:44 UTC
Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
