Stable on amd64
Comment 2 Myckel Habets 2010-06-09 16:49:08 UTC
Builds fine on x86, but when I want to build the only rdep (sci-libs/gdal) I get this:

./libecwj2-rdeptest.sh

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild R ] sci-libs/gdal-1.6.1 USE="ecwj2k* jpeg perl png python sqlite threads -curl -debug -doc -fits -geos -gif -gml -hdf -hdf5 -jpeg2k -mysql -netcdf -odbc -ogdi -postgres -ruby*" 0 kB
[blocks B ] media-libs/lcms ("media-libs/lcms" is blocking sci-libs/gdal-1.6.1)

Total: 1 package (1 reinstall), Size of downloads: 0 kB
Conflict: 1 block (1 unsatisfied)

 * Error: The above package list contains packages which cannot be
 * installed at the same time on the same system.

('ebuild', '/', 'sci-libs/gdal-1.6.1', 'merge') pulled in by
    sci-libs/gdal

('installed', '/', 'media-libs/lcms-1.19', 'nomerge') pulled in by
    media-libs/lcms required by ('installed', '/', 'app-text/poppler-0.12.3-r3', 'nomerge')
    media-libs/lcms required by ('installed', '/', 'sci-libs/libecwj2-3.3-r1', 'nomerge')

Which is strange, libecwj2 needs lcms, gdal needs libecwj2 but lcms blocks gdal.

Any thoughts? (Could I just ignore this and let the gdal stabilisation in Bug 315659 handle this?)
Comment 3 Arfrever Frehtes Taifersar Arahesis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-06-12 21:16:55 UTC
Only some older versions of sci-libs/gdal are blocked by media-libs/lcms.
media-libs/lcms doesn't block sci-libs/gdal-1.6.3-r1, whose stabilization has been requested in bug #315659.
