Build log
Execution of the bundled helper tool TexturePacker failed on line 2557, though without any apparent error message: 2554 gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -fPIC -c -o argp-parse.o argp-parse.c 2555 make[2]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/media-tv/xbmc-9.11-r3/work/xbmc-9.11/xbmc/cores/dvdplayer/Codecs/libdvd/libdvdread' 2556 cd obj && i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -MD -O3 -D_XBMC -UHAVE_DVDCSS_DVDCSS_H -fPIC -DPIC -I/var/tmp/portage/media-tv/xbmc-9.11-r3/work/xbmc-9.11/xbmc/cores/dvdplayer/Codecs/libdvd/libdvdread/../libdvdcss/src -g -Wall -funsigned-char -I/var/tmp/portage/media-tv/xbmc-9.11-r3/work/xbmc-9.11/xbmc/cores/dvdplayer/Codecs/libdvd/libdvdread -I"/var/tmp/portage/media-tv/xbmc-9.11-r3/work/xbmc-9.11/xbmc/cores/dvdplayer/Codecs/libdvd/libdvdread"/src -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -D_LARGEFILE64_SOURCE -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DHAVE_DLFCN_H -I"/var/tmp/portage/media-tv/xbmc-9.11-r3/work/xbmc-9.11/xbmc/cores/dvdplayer/Codecs/libdvd/libdvdread"/src -c -o dvd_input.o /var/tmp/portage/media-tv/xbmc-9.11-r3/work/xbmc-9.11/xbmc/cores/dvdplayer/Codecs/libdvd/libdvdread/src/dvd_input.c 2557 ../../../tools/TexturePacker/TexturePacker -input . -output Textures.xbt 2558 make[1]: *** [Textures.xbt] Error 1 2559 make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/media-tv/xbmc-9.11-r3/work/xbmc-9.11/skin/Confluence/media' 2560 make: *** [skins] Error 2 2561 make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs.... you'll have to go into the build dir and run that tool by hand and see why it fails. if there is still no output, run it through strace at least and post the log of that as an attachment. *** Bug 323117 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Is it really cool to reso/dupl another bug w/ full build.log info to this reso/needinfo one w/o reopening? (In reply to comment #5) > Is it really cool to reso/dupl another bug w/ full build.log info to this > reso/needinfo one w/o reopening? Yes, because the build log is not helpful. Both bugs provide a build log. This build log is even uncompressed for easy viewing. As noted in comment #2, we can see that TexturePacker failed, but the upstream build system produced no output indicating why this occurred. Based on this analysis, Vapier requested that someone run TexturePacker by hand and investigate. Until that happens, there is insufficient information to fix the bug, hence NEEDINFO. Once someone provides more details about how TexturePacker failed, one bug (preferably this one) can be reopened to pursue a fix. We could debate whether it is better to ask Diego to provide it, to ask Nils to provide it, or to hope for some motivated third party to undertake to install xbmc and get the requisite information. Diego is a Gentoo developer and qualified to debug this, but very busy. Nils is not a developer, and I cannot comment on whether he has the technical qualifications to debug this. However, I see nothing wrong with marking that bug as a duplicate of this one, since it is chronologically newer and, based on a quick perusal of build.log.gz (attachment #234481 [details]), appears to be the same underlying defect. I see no useful information in that bug which is not already present in this bug. that's certainly more helpful than what my response would have been. thanks ;). |
