Portage team, any ideas? The behavior for USE_EXPAND variable settings, like LINGUAS, in make.conf is that it overrides any settings for the corresponding USE flags from the profile and IUSE defaults. I don't plan to change this behavior since, for example, users have come to expect that a VIDEO_CARDS setting in make.conf will override all of the corresponding flags from the profile. If you'd like different behavior, you can avoid setting USE_EXPAND variables in make.conf and instead set the corresponding USE flags. For example: USE="linguas_en linguas_en_US" A setting like this will not override other linguas_* settings from the profile and IUSE defaults. Packaged last-rited and removed from the Portage tree. |
