Description Timothy Miller 2010-04-09 13:12:16 UTC
I ran "revdep-rebuild" and then decided to kill it because it was just going to reemerge icu for the millionth time. However, for a separate reason, I wanted to run "revdep-rebuild --library libnss3.so.12".

Instead of starting a new search to see if any deps of libnss3 needed rebuilding, revdep-rebuild completely ignored the command line options and started where it left off with the earlier run (emerge --oneshot --jobs=2 dev-libs/icu:0).

Adding "--ignore" fixes the problem, but it seems to me that changing the command line options should override whatever revdep-rebuild was doing earlier.

Reproducible: Always

Maybe changing it could be a good idea. Assigning to maintainer for an opionion.

Which version of gentoolkit? It is a bug, it is supposed to detect that the parameters have changed and start over.

BTW, I've encountered this bug again.

One of the packages failed when I ran this:
revdep-rebuild --library libcrypto.so.0.9.8

so I decided to move on and run this:
revdep-rebuild --library libssl.so.0.9.8

But it just started rebuilding the packages it figured out from the first run.
