Printing anything from kde-base/gwenview-4.4.2 on HP Photosmart C5180 fails. Cups says "/usr/libexec/cups/filter/pdftops failed"

System log says this:

Hmm, might be a gs bug? not sure... which version of ghostscript are you using?

I got it, printing from gwenview fails only in landscape mode. 

So, I'm reopening.

Same thing here with an HP Photosmart C4480. It prints fine in portrait mode, but fails in landscape mode.

Do you still have this problem with the most recent version of gwenview?

If yes, could you please file a bug at bugs.kde.org too, and link to it here?!

It seems to be fixed in 4.5.0, at least with the one file I was testing it with now. If I stumble into this again, I'll reopen.

Same problem here, except I'm not using gwenview but okular. When printing in landscape mode to an HP C7280 printer, gs core dumps and I get the "/usr/libexec/cups/filter/pdftops failed" message.

I am wondering how you have a version of kde-base/gwenview that is neither in stable (4.4.5-r1) or unstable (4.6.2).  A check of /usr/portage/distfiles shows no ebuild listed 4.5.0 is no longer the valid candidate.  Please downgrade to 4.4.5, or upgrade to 4.6.2.  See http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/kde/kde4-guide.xml -- Section 2 for details.  BTW Timo is correct as slot 4.6 Requires cups, and printing works for me.  I'm on 4.6 SC

Another problem regarding landscape printing has been fixed with ghostscript-9.02, please test that version and report back. (This bug is probably a duplicate of bug #361527.)
