CVE-2010-1194 (http://nvd.nist.gov/nvd.cfm?cvename=CVE-2010-1194): The match_component function in smtp-tls.c in libESMTP 1.0.3.r1, and possibly other versions including 1.0.4, treats two strings as equal if one is a substring of the other, which allows remote attackers to spoof trusted certificates via a crafted subjectAltName. I think these problems are fixed in libesmtp-1.0.6 which I just added to the tree. Test & stabilize: =net-libs/libesmtp-1.0.6 Tests passed successful here on x86. Stable on alpha. amd64 done x86 stable, thanks Andreas ia64/sparc stable ppc done GLSA Vote: no. Vote: NO. Barely used. Feel free to reopen, if you think otherwise. |
