$ mythfrontend -v media
 ...
2010-03-27 23:44:14.746 Unlocking disk HL-DT-ST BD-RE  GGW-H20L   (/dev/sr0), then eject()ing


The Gui window says:
Failed to eject HL-DT-ST BD-RE  GGW-H20L  (/dev/sr0)

and it does not eject.

The eject command works fine.

k3b and Nero 4 also work fine ejecting the drive.

Also, myth will eject my PATA DVD on /dev/hda.

My kernel is sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.6.31-r6.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start mythfrontend
2. Try to eject the SATA DVD drive.
3. It fails to eject.

I moved up to 2.6.31-gentoo-r10 and mythtv-0.22_p23069, and now the problem has disappeared.  The drive always opens now.
