(In reply to comment #0) > distcc 3.1 i686-pc-linux-gnu [enabled] > ccache version 2.4 [enabled] ".o: file format not recognized" is often ccache failure, please try with FEATURES="-ccache" (In reply to comment #2) > (In reply to comment #0) > > distcc 3.1 i686-pc-linux-gnu [enabled] > > ccache version 2.4 [enabled] > > ".o: file format not recognized" is often ccache failure, please try with > FEATURES="-ccache" > I already tried several times with FEATURES="-ccache -distcc" MAKEOPTS="-j1" but I got the same error, the only thing I didn't tried yet is to erase dev-lang/php directory under /var/tmp/portage after each failure but I didn't think that this is necessary. Anyway I'll try again and I'll let you know. This time I first removed /var/tmp/dev-lang/php then I tried with FEATURES="-ccache" and it worked, I don't know if removing temporary files helped, anyway also if I'm sure I already tried 3-4 times with FEATURES="-ccache -distcc" MAKEOPTS="-j1" I'm sorry about opening this bug. For what I know this bug should be marked as RESOLVED INVALID , am I right ? @comment 4: perhaps distcc has added another layer of complication. Technically, in most cases ccache bugs are actually triggered by parallel make bugs, however with php build system, it's unlikely to get fixed. (In reply to comment #5) > @comment 4: perhaps distcc has added another layer of complication. > Technically, in most cases ccache bugs are actually triggered by > parallel make bugs, however with php build system, it's unlikely > to get fixed. > Anyway the successful try was : #rm -fR /var/tmp/portage/dev-lang #FEATURES="-ccache" emerge -1v php So as you can see, distcc was enabled and also parallel make (in my /etc/make.conf I have MAKEOPTS="-j7"). |
