The Makefiles in the subdirs driver/misc and driver/lirc_dev in the lirc sources do a "depmod -a" while installing. This generates an access violation in the portage sandbox, because the file "/lib/modules/${KV}/modules.dep" is opened for writing. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: no special setup steps - just emerge it Actual Results: packages doesn't get installed because the ebuild quits with an access violation Expected Results: the ebuild works fine if it removes the two "depmod" instructions prior to installing
