Runtime testing required: ---
Attachments: Emerge information

Description Stephen Torri 2003-10-10 22:31:40 UTC
When I am writing an email and attach a file I cannot see an icon for the file.
So I am unable to modify or remove this file. If I save the email as a draft and
reopen it I can see the attachements.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Using Evolution 1.4 (with recent gnome 2.4 changes) click on create a new
message.
2. Click the attach button
3. Add a file (The email window will add a new section. You cannot see the
attachments)

Actual Results:
The email was created with the attachment but you could not verify the right
file was attached or not. Neither could you select it with the mouse and remove it.

Expected Results:
Displayed the appropriate icon for the attached file and allowed the user to
manipulate it.

Emerge information

This is the present set of emerge information. I have overwritten the USE
flag
so that I could install the epiphany package. There was a requirement for
gtk2.

Starting evolution via a terminal:

bash-2.05b$ evolution

(evolution:31876): camel-local-provider-WARNING **: Could not open/create
index file: Permission denied: indexing not performed

(evolution:21605): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **: file gdk-pixbuf-io.c: line 729
(gdk_pixbuf_new_from_file): assertion `filename != NULL' failed

NOTE: This error below occurred after I had click on Attach, selected the
file and clicked OK.

(evolution:21605): GnomeUI-CRITICAL **: file gnome-icon-list.c: line 1219
(gnome_icon_list_append_pixbuf): assertion `im != NULL' failed

which exact evo version ? if not 1.4.5 , try that one, it has some attachement
icon related fixes.
Comment 4 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-10-12 10:52:43 UTC
