Description Markinho 2002-05-27 05:06:54 UTC
Hi There,

This is an ebuild-package for the bootps Server. (2nd try *;-)*)
It's needed for statically assignment of information
for a net-booting client.

A good position for it is beneath net-misc.
In the Log files it looks like it produces some faults, but it works fine.

the ebuild-file for bootpd-2.4.3

This the ebuild file for the Version 2.4.3 which
includes some dynamic-stuff for assignment bootinformations to some
bootp-clients.

A Diff-File for adapting one "wrong" include

In the original version it needs a file called "sys/socketio.h"
but we only have a file called "sys/socket.h"

Do you need it ?

this bug is very very old is it still needed?
Comment 5 Markinho 2002-11-30 07:56:26 UTC
That's really an old one ;-)
But it still can be usefull for someusers.
I don't needed anymore, it had some Buggy behaviour on my system.
So i switched to DHCP which now provides me the network boot files I need.
It's really similar, so i think anyone who needs sth. like that can use
the DHCP package (and if not wanted disable the dynamic IPs).
So my advice: Kick it :-)
