Bug 306687 – Cannot shutdown or reboot using shutdown icon in GNOME Panel

I cannot reboot or shutdown using the shutdown icon in the GNOME Panel.  When I click on the icon, and select shutdown or reboot, the window goes away, and nothing happens.  I shutdown by logging off, then shutting down from the system menu on the login screen.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on shutdown icon in GNOME Panel.
2. Select Shutdown or Restart.

Actual Results:  
Window closes.  Nothing happens.

Expected Results:  
Computer should reboot or shutdown.

see bug #271023 or bug #274287, it is most likely an issue with your policykit setup.
