It is one of the dependencies of app-admin/logcheck, which is a better replacement for logsentry. Getting it keyworded on the same archs as logsentry is the first step for migration.

The package has a test suite (make sure you have a recent enough sync to get it; when in doubt, see if you have a ChangeLog entry from 24 Feb). If it runs successfully then you can be almost sure that the package isn't broken.

Tests seem to pass on ppc, marked ~ppc for lockfile-progs, logcheck and deps.
