If you stick something into /etc/portage/package.mask, then it's your problem to solve unsatisfied dependencies resulting from that action. dev-lang/mono-2.4.2.3 is keyworded stable and is not masked anywhere. > If you stick something into /etc/portage/package.mask, then it's your problem

I do it specially, because I have mono-2.6.1 unmasked
